Remote option temporarily available for notaries

Notaries with an electronic records endorsement can now get a remote notary endorsement. This option is available through August 1, 2020.

Who can provide this service?

You must meet all 3 requirements:

  • Be a licensed notary public.
  • Have an electronic notary endorsement.
  • Have Remote Online Notary (RON) authority.

Commercial driver waivers and extensions

On April 14, 2020, Governor Inslee signed Proclamation 20-48. It covers Department of Licensing – CDL Health Certificates and Other Requirements. This keeps CDL drivers on the road during the COVID-19 pandemic. We realize it’s difficult to access routine health care and driver licensing services. The proclamation aligns with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) waivers.

Driver licenses expiration dates extended 90 days

Governor Inslee has taken action to allow the DOL to temporarily extend the expiration dates of driver licenses.

The DOL will send letters to persons whose driver license expired after March 1, and have not been renewed and to those who will expire through June 30. These card holders expiration date will be extended for an additional 90 days. The new expiration date will show up on your driver record if it is pulled up by law enforcement. You will not receive a new card. Remember you can renew online.
