We continue to extend the expiration dates of valid Washington driver licenses. These extensions apply to commercial driver licenses (CDL) or commercial learner permits that expire on or after March 1, 2020. We have extended the expiration date to Sept. 30, 2020. The extension applies to all CDL types and endorsements.
We are following guidance from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). This guidance keeps essential transportation services operational during the COVID-19 pandemic. You will not incur late fees during the extension period.
CDL and CLP holders will not receive a new license or ID card. Please print and carry this notice and present it with your expired license.
We encourage all CDL holders to renew online, if possible. Almost all Washington residents are eligible to do so for a limited time. In-person services at driver licensing offices are very limited right now. Continue reading “Commercial driver licenses extended through September 30, 2020”
