6 more driver licensing offices set to reopen by appointment

Six more driver licensing offices will reopen by appointment only on Monday, July 20. That will bring the total number of reopened offices statewide to 35!

We closed driver licensing offices in late March due to COVID-19 concerns. They began to reopen in June in a series of stages. The next stage includes the following locations:

  • Anacortes
  • Ellensburg
  • Ilwaco
  • Port Angeles
  • Port Townsend
  • Poulsbo Closed until further notice

16 more driver licensing offices to reopen by appointment only

We are reopening more driver licensing offices on Monday, July 13. Sixteen more locations are resuming in-person services by appointment only. That will bring the total number of reopened offices statewide to 29.

We closed driver licensing offices in late March due to COVID-19 concerns. We began to reopen offices in June with 13 locations.

Apply for a first-time instruction permit online

You can now apply for a first-time driver instruction permit online!

Due to COVID-19, Gov. Jay Inslee waived the instruction permit requirement for in-person signatures. If you already have an appointment to get your instruction permit, log into your account and cancel the appointment. Continue reading “Apply for a first-time instruction permit online”

Furlough information

In accordance with the Governor’s directive, all DOL employees will have one unpaid furlough day per week during the weeks of June 28 through July 25. Agency furlough days will be on Fridays, including our licensing services offices (LSOs).

During July, all employees, including LSO employees, will move to a Monday through Friday schedule. This will provide for a consistent implementation of furloughs throughout the agency. What this means is that our entire agency, including all of our licensing services offices, will be closed on Fridays and Saturdays in July. Continue reading “Furlough information”
